WHERE
THE LEGENDARY STUDIOS

MillFactory NuVenue Studios, Rentemestervej 25, 2400 Copenhagen NV, is a 400m2 recording facility in the northwestern part of Copenhagen. It features state-of-the-art recording equipment and rooms acoustically designed by legend Andy Monroe for a second-to-none recording and listening experience.

The studio was founded in 1985 under the name of Werner Studios. Then, as well as now, it is one of the largest studios in Denmark. The name was changed in 2000 to MillFactory when acquired by the current owner, Boe Larsen. Furthermore, the studio features a unique and integrated system for video capture and livestreaming. This 'virtual' stage is called NuVenue.

HOW
LIKE A PRO

The course foundation will be an assessment of the skills of the individual and the collective group. A clear distinction is made between knowledge and experience. While knowledge is important, the experience is what gives the student the ability to use the information in a live setting. This performance results in the client experience which is what determines if the client will return or not. We need to be able see the process through the eyes of the client.

Weekly classes will amp up the the knowledge of student on core subjects like recording, mixing and mastering to a high level. Side skills on subjects like client management and delivery processes will be added to give the student a holistic foundation.

A key part of the CMA process though is for the student to analyze components of the producer/client relation and look critically as his or her performance in a live setting. As boxing legend Mike Tyson puts it “Everybody has a plan until I punch them in the face”.

During the weekly studio time the student will work in smaller groups performing and evaluation each other on both sides of the recording glass.

The student will become a part of an inspiring network founding the base for a career in the music business.

CMA takes already skilled students and builds them a strong bridge into the real world of music production. To make it clear - this is NOT a beginners course.

Q&A

Who is it for?

Producers with the ambition of making a living in the music business.

Do I have to bring my own computer?

Yes. We will often work on the studio Protools HDX system but the concepts applies to any DAW and you should have a working laptop based DAW system of your choice with you to all sessions.

What is the price?

25.000 DKK. The will be a slightly more affordable early bird option and an option for paying in a few instalments.

What are the pre requisites?

We expect you to be comfortable working in your preferred DAW.

How is it different from similar courses?

First, the course is not only packed with knowledge. We realize that unless knowledge is turned into experience it won’t help you in a live situation. So, we will do a lot of scenario group exercises where your knowledge will be applied. Second, in addition to typically solid core skills we add an important selection of “Side Skills” that will get you ahead of competition, get your returning clients and use your time more efficiently. For short, enable you to drive you own business.

What’s in it for me?

True competency and confidence working in a professional music production environment and a roadmap to a career in the business.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY

Don't just take our word for it...

Incredible Experience

I’ve been assisting in the studio since January 2022 and I must say that I had an incredible experience. The hands-on approach and the personalized guidance from a skilled professional like Boe elevated my understanding of audio (and video) production together with the bounded business side-skills.

Andrea Alunni, Producer

Highly Recommended

I’ve sharpened my engineering mindset, the efficiency of client handling, and how to deliver a professional product within a short deadline. The studio attracts all kinds of musicians, which gave me an opportunity to widen my methods of approach. I learned a LOT from my time in the studio, and I cannot recommend this course more.

Simon Sana Hald, Producer

Most important part of my education

As a Sonic College graduate, my internship at MillFactory was one of the most important part of my education. Boe is an excellent teacher, and can teach you much more than recording and mixing. I developed much more confidence in myself as an audio engineer as a result, both in terms of technical abilities, social abilities and entrepreneurial ones.

Poul Høi, Producer

Nothing but phenomenal

My experience at Copenhagen Music Academy has been a game changer to me. Boe who is not only an expert in his fields but also passionate mentor, providing constructive feedback and knowledge that significantly accelerated my learning. CMA has equipped me with invaluable skills and confidence that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a transformative learning experience in the dynamic world of music.

Michele Devito, DJ & Artist

You can't acquire it elsewhere

Boe understands how to handle people and how to get the absolute best performance out of them while still keeping a smile on their face. You feel seen with Boe, both as an aspiring producer and as an artist. And he truly knows how to pass on his knowledge. He's not just razor-sharp on all the technical aspects but also on the person behind it, and you leave MillFactory with a toolkit that I doubt you can acquire in the same form elsewhere.

Alexander Mechlenburg Hansen, Producer

Sharpened my skills

I did an internship with Boe at MillFactory in 2020 and it gave me some great hands on experience working in a professional studio. He also helped me sharpen my skills with not only recording and working with audio, but giving a good experience for the recording artist as well.

Lloyd Midgley, Guitarist
