Songwriting with Children and Young People - for Teachers and Educators
We’re excited to announce a new course at Copenhagen Music Academy focused on teaching songwriting to children and young people – from lower secondary level to upper secondary education.
This course offers a proven and highly practical method for facilitating creative songwriting processes with students. In just a few hours, participants learn how to guide a group from the very first ideas to a finished song that can be performed, recorded, and shared.
The course goes beyond music alone. Songwriting becomes a shared creative space where students develop ownership, confidence, and the courage to share ideas. The process strengthens listening skills, collaboration, and social awareness, while giving space to individual expression.
Participants experience the method first-hand through observation and hands-on practice with an actual group of children or young people. The course combines method introduction, practical application, reflection, and evaluation in an intensive one or two-day format.
After the course, participants are equipped to plan and lead their own songwriting projects in schools and educational settings.
If you’re interested in learning more or booking the course, feel free to get in touch for further information.
